Honor Scott Huntley's Legacy: Help His Loved Ones

We lost a much beloved member of our community on Monday, September 9th when Scott Huntley passed away unexpectedly. He was known for his tireless work for others, especially including countless hours building spectacular sets for the middle and high school musicals. Maybe you borrowed his traffic cones when you had a student driver in your home. Maybe your family watched his epic holiday light show at his home every year. He made his presence known by giving so much to so many.

Another community mourning Scott’s loss is the fantastic group of folks who work the Tournament of Roses. For over 40 years he volunteered his time and talent with the ToR, and wanted everyone around the country and the world to enjoy that beautiful event. With the exception of a year during the pandemic, Scott never missed a parade, even after moving 2,000 miles away to Ohio. He also loved giving friends behind the scenes tours of float construction and gave a speech to tourists every year about the history of the parade and the spectacular work that goes into the majestic floats. He gained lifelong friendships from his affiliation with the ToR organization. He truly loved it.

He leaves behind his precious Tobey and Ryan both of whom made his life wonderful beyond measure. His dedication to them was admirable and obvious. Without his financial support, they need the support of the community Scott so loved. Between medical bills, funeral expenses, and daily living, their situation is extremely challenging.
