Honor Shy: Support Her Final Journey

Hello, for those who don’t know, the beautiful Sahela Sangrait was reported missing since August 2024. She was found deceased in Hill City, South Dakota in March of 2025. Sahela mostly went by Shy. Shy is a beautiful, inclusive, and mesmerizing spirit. She entered the world on March 26, 2003, to a slew of misfortune, only to attack it all head-on with a smile on her face. She is intelligent, witty, intuitive, and all around a good spirit to be close to. We are all so lucky to know her.

South Dakota police failed her when they failed to take several attempts of missing person reports stemming from August 2024-February 2025. Our girl could still be here today had our efforts been taken more seriously. Stolen sisters should not be ignored. Funds are going towards helping provide Shy with a proper service as well as assisting her biological mother with funds to cross the country to lay her daughter to rest.

UPDATE 3-12-25:

The deceased individual has been identified as 21-year-old Sahela Sangrait. The next of kin have been notified, and we are in contact with Sahela’s family. The Box Elder woman was reported missing since 8/10/2024. The investigation is ongoing and is being investigated as a homicide. We are continuing to jointly investigate this case with the Rapid City Police Department and multiple local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to include the Bureau of Indian Affairs Missing and Murdered Unit.
