Honor the Life of Nosey Rosey

Our family has experienced a profound outpouring of kindness and affection. I'm delighted to share that Madison is progressing well and eagerly anticipates returning to riding. She is such a strong kid, and won't stop talking about being back with her barn friends.

We extend our deep gratitude to the numerous individuals who took swift action to try and preserve Rosey's legacy. In an endeavor to safeguard Rosey's genetic heritage, diligent efforts resulted in the harvesting of 19 eggs. Regrettably, only 2 eggs successfully fertilized, and neither exhibited signs of development beyond 5 days. Despite our fervent hopes, it appears that fate had different intentions for our cherished Rosey.

After further thought and consideration to best honor Nosey Rosey's life, we've chosen to invite contributions that will be directed to Saddlebred Rescue in her honor. This decision is our way of commemorating our beloved horse by aiding Saddlebreds facing life-threatening circumstances. We aspire for all Saddlebreds to experience the same affection Rosey was fortunate to receive from so many in her short 8 years of life.

For those unfamiliar, Saddlebred Rescue specializes in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming these horses, granting them a renewed opportunity for a fulfilling life. To date, SBR Rescue has successfully saved over 2,000 Saddlebreds from dire situations. Upon arrival at the facility, these horses undergo thorough medical and physical evaluations and are provided a chance to recuperate. Following their recovery, SBR's trainers assess each horse to determine their strengths and weaknesses, aligning them with suitable roles. Many of these rescued horses excel as Academy horses, lesson program participants, trail companions, and even in disciplines like dressage and jumping.

Prospective adopters undergo a rigorous application process that involves scrutiny by veterinarians and farriers, alongside assessments of their intended living conditions for the horse. In the event that an adoption doesn't work out, SBR facilitates the horse's return without hesitation, ensuring an enduring safety net.
