Honor the memory of Ian Faires with new music

Hi, my name is Jonathan Faires and I am raising funds to commission an original piece of concert band music to honor the life and legacy of my brother, Ian Faires.

Ian attended Appalachian University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Music Education. For the last 20+ years Ian taught band at the Elementary, Middle, and High School level in NC. Connecting with students and sharing his passion for music is what Ian became known for. Ian’s excitement in the classroom and his commitment to excellence brought many accolades to his band programs and students.

Sadly, Ian left this world far too soon on January 12th, 2024.

Initial funds raised will go towards a commissioned concert band work by composer, Mekel Rogers, a friend and colleague of my brother. Additional funds raised will be donated to the school music programs that Ian poured his heart and soul into.
