Tina Marie Steffen, 59, of Silverton, OR, passed away on September 23, 2024, the first day of her beloved autumn, surrounded by her cherished friends, partner and children. Born on March 5, 1965, Tina was a vibrant spirit who embraced life with joy and passion.

From an early age, Tina found happiness in the outdoors, often riding her horses and cherishing time spent in nature. As a teenager, she was a bright light in the lives of her friends, known for her love of cheerleading, dancing, and performing in choir and theater at her high school. Her vivacity and zest for life were evident to all who knew her.

In May 1986, Tina married Shane Steffen in Silverton, OR, later welcoming two sons, Zachary and Christopher. In 1994, she married Edward (Ted) Johnson in Dallas, and soon after, she faced one of her greatest challenges: a diagnosis of stage 4 cervical cancer while pregnant. In an inspiring act of bravery, Tina chose to carry her daughter Stephanie to term, and by Stephanie's first birthday, Tina's cancer was in remission.

With renewed strength, Tina returned to her passion for the arts, captivating audiences on stage at local theaters, including the Elsinore Theater in Salem. She lived life to the fullest, relishing adventures such as camping, quadding, snowmobiling, and cave exploring in Central Oregon.

Tina was a true creative spirit. She expressed herself through painting, writing, candle-making, and dancing, with Fleetwood Mac always playing in the background. Her resilience was again tested in 2016 when she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. After a misinformed brief remission, Tina faced the heartbreaking news in Spring 2022 that her cancer had metastasized. Even in her struggles, she remained fierce and determined, embodying her unyielding spirit until the end.

Tina’s passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends, and her loved ones now face unexpected expenses. In honor of her memory and to assist her family, we are seeking contributions to support Tina’s services and celebration of life.

Tina is survived by her three children, Zachary, Christopher, and Stephanie, and countless friends who will forever cherish her memory. A celebration of her life will be held announced later, where we invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering this extraordinary woman.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to her family to assist with expenses during this difficult time.

Tina’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
