The Oldest Living Survivor of Black Wall Street

Donation protected
Mrs. Viola Ford Fletcher was born May 10, 1914, and is one of the last known survivors of the 1921 Race Massacre in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mother Fletcher has been blessed by God to see 109 years of sunsets and sunrises. She has outlasted a tragedy, and her very life is a triumph after witnessing one of the deadliest massacres and darkest chapters in American history. On July 7th, 2023 the Tulsa court system did the unthinkable, by dismissing the Public Nuisance case brought forth by the 3 remaining survivors of the worst race massacre in US History, but we will not stop fighting!! Mother Fletcher along with her grandson Ike Howard has penned a chilling first-hand account of her life which includes this story, in their new book "Don't Let them bury My Story."

Mrs. Viola comes from an extraordinary generation, her family persevered and rebuilt, and she endured the Massacre, and the Dust Bowl, and served selflessly as a Rosie during World War II. Her ancestors created historic economic wealth through a community of black-owned businesses in the Greenwood District, and she honors their legacy through service to others. She now reflects and shares a lifetime of experiences and achievements, and her breadth of knowledge and wisdom makes her a national treasure.

Mrs. Viola Ford Fletcher models the ability to prevail through life's challenges, she can say, "I survived." She is a living testament to the rich legacy of our ancestors and deepens the awareness of descendants to fight forward toward economic empowerment and social justice. Beyond surviving, Mrs. Viola Ford Fletcher is an overcomer.

Help us celebrate this Historic Icon, Mrs. Viola Ford Fletcher for her strength and tenacity. The money raised by this fund directly benefits Mother Fletcher and the Viola Ford Fletcher Foundation. Please support by making a monetary donation and/or purchasing the book, causing it to skyrocket to the top of the New York Times Best Sellers List. We encourage you to purchase multiple copies for family and friends.
