Honouring a Hero: Supporting Ricky Harris’s Family

On the 14th of January 2025, our dear friend and hero, Ricky Harris, tragically passed away while saving two young lives from a powerful rip current while on holiday at Bremer Bay. One of those children was his own beloved son, and the other was his son's close friend. Ricky Harris selflessly gave his life to protect others, embodying the kind of love, courage, and sacrifice that defined his character.

He leaves behind a grieving family, including his wife and 3 young children, who are now facing not only an unimaginable loss but also the challenges of moving forward without his support.

He was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, and uncle, always supportive and caring toward his family. They will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Ricky was a man of service, having dedicated 12 years of his life to the Navy, serving his country with honour and pride. After his military career, he became a valued team member at Linkforce, where his colleagues and friends remember him fondly for his integrity, infectious smile, uplifting spirit, and the positivity he brought to the team every day.

Ricky often took the team under his wing generously encouraging, supporting, and mentoring them both inside and outside of work. He selflessly went above and beyond to help those around him. His compassion and zest for life made him an inspiration to us all.

A family man at heart, Ricky brought his loving nature into the workplace and was frequently sharing stories of his wife and children, making his love he had for his family apparent to all.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help alleviate the financial burdens his family faces during this devastating time. Donations will go toward covering funeral costs, day-to-day expenses, and providing a stable foundation for his family as they navigate life without him.

Ricky was more than a hero in his final moments—he was a loving father and husband, a dedicated colleague, a loyal friend, and someone who always put others before himself.
