My father David Achterhoff passed away yesterday Oct 6th at the age of 53. My father has always been a hard-working man. His priority in life was family to love, support, and provide and he did just that. About 2ish month's ago my father's shop laid everyone off, a few week's after that sent letters out that they were terminated. My father lost all this benefits, life insurance anything that could help my mother during this difficult time and was also battling cancer and unable to work full time. A few years back my father was diagnosed with cancer (CML) working became harder and harder as it progressed. October 29th is when he collapsed and this devastating event began. His heart stopped, and lack of oxygen cased severe damage to his brain, and while being in ICU for 7 days also had multiple stroke during this time. My father's joy in life was his motorcycle, hunting, and anything to do with his grandchildren. Dave leaves behind and amazing wife, 2 children, and 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild on the way, but he was called home and is now pain free. Dave was always a giving man, that would help anyone that he could. His whole family is going through a financial hardship and anything is appreciated to help lay my father to rest.
