In Loving Memory of Abel and Jessica Cardenas
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved siblings, Abel and Jessica Cardenas, who were tragically called to heaven on December 25, 2024, Christmas Day. They were vacationing in our parents' hometown of Michoacán, Mexico, to attend a relative’s quinceañera celebration. Tragically, while there, they were involved in a devastating car accident that resulted in the loss of four lives, all of whom were relatives, including our beloved cousin, Flora, the quinceañera.
Those who knew Abel and Jessica would agree that they were both extraordinary individuals—full of ambition, kindness, and light. Abel, who had recently begun applying his trades in the workforce, was a determined young man with a bright future ahead of him. Jessica, a dedicated student at Santa Rosa Junior College, was equally driven and passionate about her education. Both were known for their immense compassion and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting them immediately felt their warmth and caring nature.
Abel and Jessica are survived by their loving parents, Magdaleno Cardenas and Ofelia Cardenas; their brother, Jerardo Cardenas; sister-in-law, Chelsea Fox; and their two nephews, Victor and Lorenzo Fox-Cardenas.
In response to numerous requests from family and friends asking how they can assist, we have created a GoFundMe account to help cover funeral expenses during this difficult time. For cash or checks, please make them payable to 'Jerardo Cardenas.' We are truly grateful for the support and kindness from all who have reached out.
We will provide updates regarding the dates and details for the viewing and funeral services as soon as we have more information. My family and I kindly ask for your patience as we await the return of Abel and Jessica, so that we can collectively navigate this difficult period of mourning.
The viewing will be held at Daniels Chapel of the Roses Funeral Home and Crematory in Santa Rosa and their final resting place will be at Santa Rosa Memorial Park on Franklin Avenue, also in Santa Rosa, CA.
We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as our family grieves this unimaginable and unexpected loss. Again, we will update with more information once it's all official.
