Honoring Alfredo Sanchez Contreras:Seeking Justice & Closure

In Loving Memory of Alfredo Sanchez Contreras

With broken hearts, we share the devastating and unexpected loss of our father, Alfredo Sanchez Contreras. He passed away at just 66 years old in Michoacán, Mexico, from an alleged heart attack, and was found at the bottom of a set of stairs. While we were told it was a heart attack, we do not trust the police and autopsy team who handled my dad’s case. Unfortunately, corruption runs deep, and they tried to push us to accept their version of events and close the case. We believe they haven’t told us the full truth, leaving us confused, angry, and unable to properly mourn and accept what happened to our dad.

What makes this even harder is that my dad seemed perfectly healthy. He regularly visited doctors, ate well, exercised, and had no known heart problems. Just a day before his death, I spoke to him on his birthday. He told me he felt youthful and great, showing no signs that anything was wrong. Now, we’re left with so many questions and deep sorrow as we search for answers.

Our dad was a man of true integrity and hard work. A father of seven, he taught us the value of effort and always doing the right thing. Even after being deported in 2009, he refused to return to the U.S. illegally. He was determined to come back the right way, ensuring he had all the proper documentation, no matter how long it took. He wanted to do things by the book, which speaks volumes about his character. We were so close—almost done with the process to bring him back in 2025—but now that chance has been taken from us.

Despite the distance, my dad never let that come between us. He called all seven of us weekly, always checking in, offering advice, and making sure we were okay. He was kind, smart, and gentle, and he loved us more than anything. We were his pride and joy, and he never stopped reminding us of how much we meant to him.

Now, as we face this unimaginable loss, we are asking for help to give our father a proper funeral close to his children, here in the U.S. The funds raised will help us cover the costs of his funeral and ensure he gets the goodbye he deserves. In addition, these funds will also allow us to take trips back to Mexico to seek justice and find the answers we so desperately need. We want to make sure everything is done right in his name, both here and in Mexico, so that we can finally have peace and closure.

Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us as we honor the incredible man who shaped our lives and fight for the justice he deserves.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and kindness during this painful time.
