Honoring Ali Hegazi: Wells for Sadaqah Jariyah

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a pillar of our community, brother Ali Hegazi. Brother Ali Hegazi was the father of our beloved community members brother Mohamed Hegazi and sister Hend Hegazi.

Giving water is a highly recommended act in Islam. In fact, the Prophet said it is the best form of sadaqah. When Umm Sa’d died, Sa’d ibn Ubadah asked the Prophet ﷺ, ‘What form of sadaqah is best?’ He replied, ‘Water (is best).’ He dug a well and said, ‘It is for Umm Sa’d.’ (Al-Albani).

In commemorating Brother Ali’s impact on the community, his strength, and strong faith in Allah, the community wants to continue the prophet's tradition of sadaqah by building wells in honor of our brother Ali. The funds will be used to build wells in impoverished areas so their legacy and hasanat live on.
