Honoring Ali J. Langston’s Legacy

It is with immense sadness that we share the passing of our brother, Ali Jihad Langston, of Woodbridge VA. Ali was a father, husband, son, brother, mentor, and most importantly- he was our friend. It is difficult to describe in words the immense impact that Ali had on communities across the country- ranging all the way from his home state of Connecticut to his current residence in Virginia. Ali was the co-founder of Mercy 2 Mankind, a non-profit committed to serving homeless populations and other marginalized communities. He was a member of the Muslim Association of Virginia and an active contributor to the group’s Anti-Racism Task Force. Ali was involved in several other humanitarian and charity organizations that benefitted a wide range of people nationally and internationally. He dedicated his life to serving his community for the sake of Allah and we pray that Allah accepts his good deeds and grants him the highest level of Jannah.
Ali (36) leaves behind his wife and life-partner, Summer, as well as their three beautiful children- Rayyon (10), Zayd (10), and Zakarya (7). We pray that Allah grants Ali’s family ease and comfort during this most difficult time. May his children be a form of sadaqah jariyah for him.
We are asking the community to honor the life and legacy of Ali J. Langston by donating to his family to guide them through the many hardships and burdens that come with losing a husband and a father. We want to make it clear that this GoFundMe was not asked for or created by the Langston family, but created out of a desire from countless people who have been impacted by Ali’s light and legacy. Ali’s mentorship, guidance, kindness, and friendship has left a lasting mark on us all.
