Honoring Daisy’s Life️

We already have spent $1,500 at UC Davis two weeks ago and she wasn’t given the proper treatment there.

Because of that we then needed the mobile alpaca vet to come out on Monday as she had become so weak. He put her on antibiotics. His visit was $800. She seemed interested in eating then but now she won’t eat anything, not even her favorite sweet feed. We took her out as some sunshine came out she could not eat some grass and she still wasn’t interested. After a few minutes she just lay down in the road and couldn’t even get up. She became so weak and had lost a-lot of weight from all of this. Even so she’s was only a hundred pounds and we had to to pick her up to load her into the back seat of our pick up truck.

We drove her down immediately in emergency to a different clinic in Gilroy and fortunately they specialize in Camelids. They required yet another $1,000 dollars just as a deposit for them to take her.

Because her treatment last fall never resolved she is now in a worse place. Apparently the same bacteria that plagued her in the fall hasn’t resolved in her.

Theses patients two weeks alone we have already paid the Alpaca Vet 800, paid for hotel up at UC Davis, paid $1500 for her last visit there this time around and at least the same amount for the visit in the fall.

Daisy was so sweet. She brought so much joy to so many people in weddings and birthdays and school visit with little children. She was of the most gentle and kind animals we have ever had be a part of our family.

She was raised by a little boy and at age ten and should have another good ten years.

Daisy has brought so much joy and love into everybody’s lives that she’s touched. And we just ask that people honor the gift that she gave them in those memories by donating to her medical bills.

sadly, yesterday we were given the news that the vet concluded the kindest thing to do is euthanasia. We are heart broken and miss her so much. Every little bit will help us in continuing to care for the other alpacas and animals we have on the farm. Thank you for your time in reading this. We greatly appreciate your support.
