Honoring Andrea Salazar: A loving Farewell
Donation protected
Dear family and friends,
This is Alicia Salazar, Andrea's granddaughter. As we come together to honor and remember my Nana, I wanted to share our plans to celebrate her incredible life.
Andrea, our beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully at 91. Though we are grateful that her passing was peaceful, it came sooner than we had hoped and left our hearts feeling a bit unprepared.
Known affectionately as Nana, Auntie, Nina, and Mom, Andrea was truly the heart of our family, and her love and care touched so many of us. She didn’t just raise her own children and grandchildren; she was also a guiding light for her nieces, nephews, and siblings. Her home was always open, and her support never wavered. Andrea’s warmth and dedication helped shape our lives in countless ways.
Andrea volunteered at the library, where her love for books and learning shone brightly. Her passion for knowledge was matched only by her love for children. She was always eager to share Bible stories and foster a love of reading in the young ones around her.
Andrea had a huge passion for music, mariachi and country western were her favorite. Many of our fondest memories are filled with the sound of Mariachi bands at family gatherings, music playing in her kitchen, and for those who knew Andrea, she loved to sing along. Dancing was also a favorite pastime of hers. She recently attended a wedding and expressed the sincere love she felt surrounded by her family. The highlight of her night was getting to dance with her godson.
Andrea had an incredible gift for keeping our family history alive. She took it upon herself to track our family trees and stories, making sure that our past and our ancestors were never forgotten. Thanks to her, we all have a rich connection to our family’s heritage.
As we come together to say goodbye to Andrea, we’re organizing a funeral to honor her beautiful life and all that she did for us. We would like to raise funds to ensure a meaningful celebration with family and friends, as this was something Andrea cherished deeply. This would greatly support her son, Felix, and daughter, Rosemary, with costs for this celebration during this challenging time. Any help you can offer, whether it’s a donation or just sharing this message, would mean the world to us as we work to give Andrea the farewell she deserves.
Thank you for being there for us during this time. Your thoughts, prayers, love, and support are deeply appreciated. We are comforted knowing my Nana and Tata are reunited in heaven, dancing to all their favorite songs.
With love and thanks,
Alicia Salazar
