Honoring Annette Ames
Donation protected
As many of you know, Annette was diagnosed with cancer in November. She fought hard and had the support, love, and prayers of her family and many friends. As her oldest son stated, she spent much of the time (while she was not feeling well) making jokes and making sure her family was taken care of. On May 30th. with friends and family at her side, Annette went home to be with the Lord. Annette's son, Robbie, used this quote, by Stuart Scott, in a post about his mom, "When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and the manner in which you live." If we gauged Annette's battle with cancer (and her life in general) by this quote, most would agree that she beat it.
Annette touched so many lives. Many have asked what they can do for Annette's family and/or as a tribute to her. Annette's co-teacher and good friend, Terri Romance, collected money to provide meals for the extended family as they get through the next few days. Any of the extra money collected will be given to Annette's husband, Rob. Rob and the boys will be traveling by RV to Maine, to plant a tree in Annette's honor. Maine was a place Annette loved. It was her happy place. Annette, Rob, Robbie, Mikey, and Nicholas traveled to Maine and spent much of the summer there every year. They were planning an RV trip together this summer. Now Rob will take the trip with the boys to honor his wife and their mother.
We have started this fundraiser to raise money for Annette's tribute. All the money will go into an account created just for this cause. Then the final amount will be transferred to Rob. Thank you for sharing all of your stories about Annette and for all of the prayers for her family.
