Honoring Ashley Griffin: Support Her Children's Future
Donation protected
Good morning, everybody. Relic R.A.T. (Cliff Adams) here....
This is something I never imagined I would have to do, but with the blessing of her family, I am here humbly asking for your generosity. It all began on June 26th.
Ashley Griffin has been part of the Relic R.A.T. family from the very beginning. Most of you probably know her name since she was with us most weeks digging and in many of our videos. She absolutely loved all things metal detecting. She excitedly shared her finds and cheered on other detectorists when they shared their recent finds, particularly in Metal Detecting Georgia. She shared her love of this wonderful hobby with her kids and brought them along with us often. On one occasion her son, Ezra found and returned a big ole 14k gold class ring... asking nothing in return.
Ashley was a beautiful person, kind and gentle, a wonderful mother and good friend.
I don't want to remember Ashley for what happened to her, but for the person she was. But I do feel the need to share what happened on that day. On June 26th Ashley collapsed and passed away while digging with Uncle Marty and myself. We were at the back of a 200 acre old home site in Middle Georgia and had been digging for about an hour and a half. I heard Ashley say, "I have a thimble!". I started walking towards her, filming. I walk past Marty and find that she has a cool old brass thimble in her hand. She is smiling and we talk about what a cool find it is. She is so excited to have found her first thimble!
A few seconds after I walk away, I hear Marty say, "Ashley!" as she collapsed. We tried hard to save her, but I knew she was gone. I will spare any further details at this time, but I find some comfort knowing that she died while doing something she loved: metal detecting.
I am not one to ask for help, especially from my relatively new detectorists family. Again, I am humbly asking for your generosity at this time. Ashley has two beautiful children, Malina and Ezra. I want to honor her memory and help her family by raising funds for her children's future. If it is in your heart to donate, I know any amount of money would be greatly appreciated. If you are not able to donate, please say a prayer for the people who loved her.... her husband, Elmer who was supportive and encouraging of her and her children enjoying this hobby, her family, friends and the Relic R.A.T. family who are all mourning the loss of such a beautiful person.
