Honoring Auntie Olive

Donation protected
Hello Everyone, on October 27th, 2024, our beloved Auntie Olive passed away at Alaska Regional Hospital. She was an INCREDIBLE woman. To my friends and family, she was known as “Auntie.” She was kind-hearted and courageous.

Before her passing, she spent 18 days in the ICU fighting for her life but sadly couldn’t make it through. Auntie Olive spent her days at church, and if she wasn’t at church, she’d be at home watching her game shows or watering her flowers.

After my 18th birthday party, all she could think about was giving away our extra food to the homeless people. That shows what kind of person my Auntie was. She loved singing and was a part of the St. Anthony Choir and had many, many companions.

I remember every sleepover that I had with my friends; every morning, my auntie would try to prepare breakfast for us. Everyone adored Auntie Olive as she was the kindest and cutest lady that they had ever met. She is the life of the party, she is an adventurer, and most of all, she is a mother.

When I was 3 years old, my mom passed away due to cancer. My dad moved my brothers and me from the Philippines to America, and that’s when we met Auntie Olive. Little did I know that the nice lady whom I saw at the airport would change my life forever. She fed me, bathed me, kept a roof over my head, and stepped up as a mother. And when my dad got ill in 2019, my auntie also resumed the role of our father. She has never failed to show up for our celebrations and achievements.

Though she might not have had any biological children, she always boasted about us to her friends and family and claimed us as her kids. We are eternally grateful for our auntie for giving us the life our parents couldn’t give us.

All donations, big or small, will proceed to Auntie Olive's memorial service and will help us with any bills that will come after that.

All donations and shares will greatly be appreciated.
