Honoring Bob's wishes for Greta's Care at Crystal Woods

Donation protected
On June 18th, our beloved father, Bob Carigon, passed away peacefully in his sleep. We had a beautiful private family gathering to honor and celebrate our dad's life and legacy. Prior to our dad's passing, he had expressed his concern for his wife, our mom, Greta, since he was their main source of retirement income. His heartfelt desire is that she would be able to continue to reside at Crystal Woods. In lieu of flowers, this GoFundMe account has been established to assist in making it possible for Greta to remain at the memory care unit, where she and Bob were compassionately and lovingly care for.

OBITUARY:
Robert (Bob) Carigon, a beloved man known for his unwavering faith, dedication to family, and lifelong commitment to Jesus, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024. He was 86 years old.

Bob was described by those who loved him as a simple, God fearing, hardworking man. His genuine care and concern for people, coupled with his unwavering trust in God, created a legacy of faith and service that will continue to inspire generations to come.

Born in 1938, Bob's early years were marked by his passion for running, which blossomed during his time at Lowell High School. There, he achieved the honor of being a Michigan state champion in cross country and track. His athletic prowess continued at Bryan College in Dayton TN, where he was later inducted into Bryan’s sports hall of fame. Bob’s greatest victory at Bryan however, was when he met the love of his life, Greta (Sorrell). They married in 1961, and shared a deep love and partnership that grew and endured over their 62 years of marriage.

Bob's career as a public school teacher spanned decades, touching the lives of countless students and athletes whom he inspired with his character and kindness. Above all else, Bob was a man of deep faith. His relationship with Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life, and his greatest desire was to see others experience the same life-changing relationship with Jesus that he had. He exemplified the values of compassion, integrity, and humility, living out his faith in practical ways that made a lasting impact on his family and those he touched.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Greta, their children, Timothy (Lori), Robin (Jim), Heidi (Bob), Steve (Angie), 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family will cherish his memory and the profound influence he has had on their lives. His passing leaves a void in the family, but they rejoice in knowing that he is in heaven, in the presence of His Lord and Savior. Bob Carigon, will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a man who lived his life with purpose, humility, and an enduring love for God and others.

The family will have a private celebration to honor Bob’s life. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe account has been established for Bob’s wife, Greta, to help ensure she remain at Crystal Woods memory care unit where she and Bob were residents. Bob’s heartfelt desire prior to his passing, is that Greta be able to continue to reside at Crystal Woods, a place where she is compassionately cared for and greatly loved.
