Honoring Brenda: Support for Guzman Duran Family

Hi, my name is Yadira Herrera and I'm fundraising for the Guzman Duran family in the recent loss of our beloved Brenda Guzman Duran. Brenda a mother, daughter, sister and friend in a loving effort to save her eleven year old daughter who was drowning in the San Joaquin River on Thursday May 9th lost her life after helping bring her daughter out to safety. Brenda was swept away by the river and during an anxious and overwhelming two days, The Guzman Duran family along with volunteers, search and rescue anxiously searched for Brenda's remains until they finally found her.

Brenda's husband describes her as a "very thriving person, always smiling, never giving up and very compassionate.” Brenda, a young mother full of love and laughter leaves behind her three children, her husband and her extended family that will forever hold her in her heart.

In honor of her memory and the support of her family, we have created this GoFundMe page to raise funds for the Guzman Duran family during this unimaginable difficult time. Your generosity will assist with essentials such as funeral expenses, basic needs like food, transportation, and more for the family. Hola, mi nombre es Yadira Herrera y estoy recaudando fondos para la familia Guzmán Durán tras la reciente pérdida de nuestra querida Brenda Guzmán Durán. Brenda, una madre, hija, hermana y amiga, en un amoroso esfuerzo por salvar a su hija de once años que se estaba ahogando en el río San Joaquín el jueves 9 de mayo, perdió la vida después de ayudar a sacar a su hija a un lugar seguro. Brenda fue arrastrada por el río y durante dos días angustiosos y abrumadores, la familia Guzmán Durán junto con voluntarios de búsqueda y rescate buscaron ansiosamente los restos de Brenda hasta que finalmente la encontraron.

El marido de Brenda la describe como una "persona muy próspera, siempre sonriente, que nunca se da por vencida y muy compasiva". Brenda, una joven madre llena de amor y risas, deja atrás a sus tres hijos, su esposo y su extensa familia que la llevará por siempre en su corazón.
