Honoring Bruce Hansen, husband, father, proud vet
Donation protected
In mid-November my dad, Bruce, went into the hospital for a procedure due to internal bleeding issues. He was released after the procedure, but the following night he suffered a TIA stroke. He was re-admitted to the hospital by ambulance. He has been fighting against covid, suffered two additional strokes, and had to have additional procedures to seal up new internal bleeds. Through all this the doctors determined they will not be able to fix the underlying issues causing the internal bleeding.
We are hoping he will be able to come home for end of life hospice tomorrow. My dad, who is the toughest son of a gun army vet that anyone has ever met, has said he WILL fight this to try and have one last Christmas with our family. The reality is the doctors do not think he will live that long. We may only have a few precious good days with him to say goodbye once he is home.
For those wishing to be there for us at this time, or to honor his memory you might consider donating to this gofundme we set up for my mom, Sandy. On top of medical bills and other expenses, she is also looking at a lapse in their income. We are realistic and just asking for a little help to get her through Christmas and the next couple months so she may mourn without the stress of her bills going unpaid. To reach our goal would be a “Christmas miracle”. We know this year has been hard on everyone. If you can’t afford to help out please share, and say a prayer for Bruce and our family.
For limited family and very close friends of Bruce it may be possible to see him once he is home, but we still do not have any specifics yet. His wishes are for a veterans funeral, and to be buried at the veterans cemetery in Union Grove, because of covid this will be a small affair with immediate family only.
