Celebrating Christine Empie
I can't believe Christine is no longer with us. It's been almost a month and it still hurts so much. But today I don't want to be sad. Today I'd like to celebrate her life. She would have turned 49 (June 5th).
I remember when she turned 40. We never got each other gifts for our birthdays but this was a big one and I wanted to do something special for her. I couldn't think of anything she'd want for herself and eventually realized that what she always wanted most was to help animals. I ended up donating supplies in her name to an animal shelter in her area. She was so grateful and happy this was done in her name.
She would do anything to help animals. I remember one day she sat next to a dumpster literally for hours waiting for kittens to come out for the tuna fish she left for them. When they did she was able to catch them and bring them to safety, ultimately helping them find their forever homes.
She spent countless hours advocating for animals and over the years fostered an immeasureable number of cats and dogs. Animal welfare was one of her biggest passions.
To honor Christine and celebrate her life I've made a go fund me for an orgainzation she did a lot of work with while she was living in Atlanta and continued to work with once she moved to San Francisco. This orgainization (Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, Inc) meant so much to her.
Please join me in celebrating Christine's life by donating to help an animal in need. No gift is too small--If everyone who knew her gave only a couple of dollars it'd make a very big impact.
Thank you so much in advance for your contribution to this cause that meant so much to Christine.
