Honoring Christy: A Fighter's Last Request

Hello, my name is Brittany. My best friend's of 30 years mother, Christy Burk, passed away unexpectedly on December 23rd. With the holidays coming right after and dealing with what comes with losing someone, they would like to make their mom's final wishes come true, which is to be placed next to her stepdad and grandparents.

Let me tell you a little about Christy. She was a fighter. She spent a majority of her life battling kidney disease and underwent three kidney transplants. She was on dialysis from the age of 26, and last year found out she had a rare form of brain cancer. After a long road of chemo and undergoing a stem cell transplant, she WON THE BATTLE! She never let her health issues waver her spirits. I never met someone who thought so positively all the time. The most kind, gentle soul you’d be lucky to have met if you had the chance to meet her. Unfortunately, after all the battles she’s won in her long history of health problems, she couldn’t fight this last one.

She was a firm believer in angels, and now she’s become one. Although she was always one to begin with.
