Honoring Chuck Brazie: Support for Final Expenses
Donation protected
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Charles "Chuck" Brazie on August 24th, 2024. He was a friend to many in Adams Morgan, located in the heart of Washington, DC. Chuck was a neighborhood staple and cared for its businesses and residents. He invested a lot of his time growing these relationships and involved himself in all things Adams Morgan.
You could easily find him taking walks with his dog, Bravo...stopping in stores to check on the owners, belting out a few songs on karaoke nights at Millie 'n Als, watching a ball game at Adams Mill, making Thanksgiving dinner with friends at Shenanigans, or hanging out on Town Tavern's patio with a pipe in one hand and a cold budweiser in the other. One thing was certain, Chuck Brazie always had a story or two to share!
Chuck was born April 16, 1943 in Nebraska. His father being in the military, they moved to many parts of the country and the world, finally settling in Falls Church, Virginia. He worked in Washington, DC for many years after that and his heart found its way to Adams Morgan. He really took an interest in making his neighborhood better and fought hard for things that helped make it grow. Notably, Chuck helped with the 18th Street Streetscape project and served as Director of Operations & Security for Adams Morgan Day Festivals for almost ten years. The neighborhood won't be the same without you, Chuck Brazie. You will be missed.
We have helped set-up this gofundme memorial fundraiser for his longtime partner, Lisa Duperier, to take care of final expenses. Any donation is truly appreciated. We will also be hosting an in-person memorial fundraiser on Thursday, September 5th at Town Tavern from 6-9pm. We do hope you will join us as we share our many stories and memories.
