Remembering Coach Steve Hall

On March 1, 2024, the Vashon community lost a beloved figure, Coach Steve Hall. His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of many who knew him. Steve's legacy as a coach, mentor, and community leader will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched.

Steve's journey began in Bremerton, Washington, where he was born to Nancy Fuller. Raised in Port Orchard, he graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1979, where his natural leadership skills and passion for sports shone brightly. It was evident early on that Steve's calling was to inspire and guide others, whether on the field or in the community.

As the head coach of the Vashon High School baseball team, Steve poured his heart and soul into shaping the lives of young athletes. His dedication culminated in the team's triumphant 2016 state championship victory, a moment that brought immense pride to him and the entire community.

Beyond the baseball diamond, Steve was known for his warmth, infectious positivity, and unwavering commitment to his family. Whether it was his 30-year tenure at Vashon Thriftway or his cherished moments spent on his boat, Steve touched the lives of everyone he encountered.

Supporting Steve's Family

In the wake of Steve's passing, his family is faced with the challenges of moving forward without their beloved husband, father, and grandfather. As they navigate this difficult time, they need our support more than ever.

We have established this GoFundMe campaign to alleviate the financial burden on Steve's family and assist them in covering immediate expenses and future needs. Your generous contributions will help ensure that Steve's loved ones can focus on healing and honoring his memory without the added stress of financial worries.

How You Can Help

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in the lives of Steve's family. Whether you were touched by his coaching, his warmth, or his vibrant spirit, now is the time to come together and show our support.

Additionally, for those who wish to contribute to Steve's lasting legacy, donations can be made to the "Coach Hall Swing for the Fences" award through the Vashon Community Scholarship Foundation.

Join Us in Celebration

To celebrate Steve's remarkable life, we invite you to join us for a public celebration on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Vashon High School baseball field. Come dressed in your best baseball attire, bring a lawn chair, and be prepared for an afternoon of reminiscing, storytelling, and honoring the legacy of a truly extraordinary individual.

Thank you for your generosity, love, and support during this challenging time. Together, we can honor Coach Steve Hall's memory and provide comfort to his grieving family.
