Honoring Corey, beloved father, son, brother and firefighter

It is with heavy hearts that we gather here today to mourn the passing of our beloved brother, Corey. Corey was more than just a family member; he was a vibrant soul, a prankster, and a clown whose infectious laugh brought joy to everyone around him. Life was undeniably more enjoyable in his presence. One moment, you’d hear him quoting Goggins, yelling, “THEY DON'T KNOW ME, SON!” while pushing through a workout, and the next, he’d be slamming a beer and cheering passionately for whatever sport was on TV. His loud voice could fill a room, and you always knew it was Corey the moment you heard it.

Corey had an unparalleled ability to show up for you when you needed him most, without hesitation. He loved us all deeply, but his greatest love was reserved for his precious baby girl, Layla. As a dedicated father, son, and brother, Corey was also a loyal servant to his community, dedicating his adult life to being a firefighter and serving something greater than himself.

In honor of Corey, we are establishing a fund dedicated to him and his family . Our goal is to cover his funeral expenses and to ensure that Layla continues to be surrounded by the love of so many Aunts and Uncles who wear the same uniform as her father.

Although Corey may have left our world, he has not left our hearts. We will take it upon ourselves to carry on his legacy, keeping his spirit alive within us. His life continues to burn brightly, and we will make sure that Layla never forgets her daddy's love.
