Honoring Dao Huynh & Celebrating His Life

Dao’s Journey and Celebration of Life
In September 2023, Dao was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Over the past year, he focused on undergoing chemotherapy treatments, which prevented him from working. His wife, Kim, was his full-time caregiver, often unable to work herself as she devoted her time to Dao’s care. Each week, she drove him two hours to and from chemotherapy appointments, took care of his meals, ensured he took his medication, and tended to his personal needs. Some weeks were spent in the hospital as Dao faced complications from his illness.
His four daughters—Lena, Sara, Andrea, and Brittany—supported both Dao and Kim throughout his battle. After a courageous fight, Dao passed away on October 3, 2024.
Dao will be cremated, and the family will hold a celebration of life in West Virginia. Afterwards, they will travel to California to gather with family and friends for another celebration before finally journeying to Vietnam, his native country, where his remains will be laid to rest.
Dao touched many lives and built friendships across the country. We invite those who knew him to use this space to share a message, make a memorial contribution, or donate to a charity in his honor.
Any memorial contributions will go toward cremation services and the costs associated with bringing Dao’s remains to Vietnam.
