Honoring Deputy Yuna Shi: Family Support

Deputy Yuna Shi’s family needs our help. Deputy Shi was born in China on May 23, 1981. She immigrated to the United States. She began her law enforcement career by joining the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department as a custody assistant. In 2016 she graduated the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department as part of Class 409 and became a full time deputy sheriff. Deputy Shi was diagnosed with cancer and fought a tough two year battle. She passed on her birthday, May 23, 2024. Deputy Shi always had a smile on her face and lit up any room. She was an extremely generous and kind soul. She is remembered by many and will be forever missed. Before her passing, she was worried about her family and how they would be taken care of in the event she passed.
