Honoring Destinee Lockhart: Funeral Support

Donation protected
This is the last thing I wanted to have to do…. My name is Harley Lockhart. I am making this because God called my sister Destinee Lockhart home on 10/31/24 at 12:48 am.

On Saturday, 10/26/24, I found my sister collapsed on the ground having a seizure. She was transported to High Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, California. During transport, she had another seizure. When she arrived at the hospital, she had 6 more. The doctors then intubated Destinee and transported her via helicopter to Desert Regional Medical Center, where she was put in the ICU and sedated. She was still having seizures through her sedation. They got the seizures under control after 24 hours.
On the evening of 10/29, doctors did a CT scan and saw she had swelling in the brain, and her pupils were dilated and unresponsive. On 10/30, she went into cardiac arrest and was resuscitated.
The doctors then let us know she maxed out on her sedation medication and there was nothing more they could do. We decided to honor her wishes and took her off life support. She was able to donate some of her organs like she wanted, so she’s saving a few people like she always does.

*A little about Destinee*
Destinee was 25 years old with a known history of epilepsy. Her last seizure was when she was 6 years old. Shortly after her 25th birthday, her seizures returned. She was actively taking all her medication.

Destinee is leaving behind 2 beautiful daughters and a sweet little boy, ages 4, 3, & 1. She also leaves behind 9 brothers and sisters, her mom & dad and lots of nieces and nephews.

Destinee was a recovering addict fighting for custody of her 1-year-old boy. Destinee was almost finished with all her classes, and all her drug screenings came back clear. She was going to NA meetings and in counseling to better herself. Destinee made a complete 360 and changed her life for the better. She strived to be a better person and a better mother. Destinee lifted a lot of spirits and touched a lot of hearts.

The funds made will be to cover funeral expenses and memorial jewelry or bears for the kids. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Even a share or prayer, my family is very thankful for.
