On March 13, 2025, while on spring break in Florida from Mississippi, our beloved Demetrius (DJ), only 17 years old, tragically lost his life while heroically saving others from drowning. His incredible bravery and selflessness will never be forgotten. DJ was a bright, loving, and compassionate young person with so much life ahead. As you may know, no parent ever plans for the loss of a child, especially not a teenager. This unimaginable tragedy that has left our family heartbroken and unprepared financially. To give him the proper homegoing he deserves, we are reaching out to our community, friends, and kind-hearted strangers to ask for help covering the expenses of transporting him home to Hattiesburg Mississippi, funeral arrangements, and burial expenses. Every donation, no matter how small, will help ease this burden and allow the family to focus on grieving and healing.
