Honoring Don McAnn: Support His Family
Donation protected
Don always made everyone feel welcomed, whether it was the first time you met or if you hadn't seen him in years. He had a way to make you lose track of time with stories of his past, recent family trips, gatherings with his grandchildren or the latest project he had in the works. He would always go out of his way for people which is why i believe so many people adored him. He was a proud stubborn man at times but he truly wanted the best for everyone and was always there if you needed him.
Don was the son of the late Wallace and Betty McAnn.
He was an Inspection Authorization for the FAA. He also held a Private Pilot’s license and was a member of the Middlesex Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Don loved airplanes, and also loved tinkering with motorcycles and cars. He loved anything that could go fast.
Don also loved kids and loved working with them. He had been a youth soccer coach for 10 years in Oklahoma. Don and his business partner in Oklahoma started a “Bus Ministry”, making sure young people could get to church. He was also very involved with Awana. Don was always smiling.
Don adored his grandchildren and prayed for them daily. He was proud of their athletic and scholastic successes. They will miss him giving them motorcycle rides; and him going on roller coasters with them.
Don attended Seneca Community Church in Romulus, NY. He was a good Christian man with a big heart. Don was only a phone call away when anyone needed anything. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Don is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lisa McAnn; son, Joshua (Amberly) Teel; two daughters, Alicia (Ryan) McBride and Mei (Sen) Chen; 8 grandchildren, Easton, Jet, Maverick and Taylynn Teel, Aubrey Teel, and Nicholas, Nicole and Natalie Zhen.
Don is also survived by his sister, Sherry McAnn; nephew, Justin McAnn; and fur babies, Lucky and Tucker.
Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated and will help the family get through this difficult time.
