Honoring Drew Courtright: Support His Final Farewell

Help Drew’s Family Lay Him to Rest

Many of you have already heard the heartbreaking news, but for those who have not, we are devastated to share that my nephew, Drew Courtright, was taken from us far too soon due to a senseless act of violence.

At just 26 years old, he had so much life ahead of him, and now we are left to navigate the unimaginable pain of his loss. Drew touched so many people’s lives. Anyone who met him felt as though he was their very best friend.

He had a rare and beautiful way of making everyone feel valued, loved, and understood. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled, and he will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

This tragedy is even more devastating for my sister, Shannon Courtright, who has already endured the loss of her oldest son, Tyler Courtright, just a few years ago. No parent should have to bury a child, let alone two. This is something no family can ever be prepared for, emotionally or financially.

Drew is survived by his twin brother, Alec, his sister, Jordynn, his brother, Brook, his mother, Shannon Courtright; and his father, Michael Courtright. He also leaves behind SO many loving family members and friends who will miss him dearly and forever carry an emptiness and loss, from losing one of this world's most amazing, funny, bright, life lifting people we will ever know!

While we mourn his loss here on earth, we find some comfort in knowing that he has been reunited in heaven with his older brother, Tyler, his grandfather, T-Bob, his Aunt Kristy and God. We are asking for any support to help lay Drew to rest and give him the farewell he so deserves.

As his mother already knows all too well from burying her first son, funeral preparations and services are very expensive and unprepared for. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to us.
