Honoring Elroy Colledge: Funeral Donations
Donation protected
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elroy Edmond College on November 5, 2024, at the age of 86. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home.
Elroy was born on September 17, 1938, to Nancy Frances and Lester Colledge in Lehi, Utah. He went on to play varsity basketball, nicknamed “Mouse”, for Lehi High School where he graduated in 1956. Elroy was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served an extended mission to the Rarotonga Mission covering the Cook Islands, but he continued serving people throughout his entire life.
After returning from his mission, Elroy met his wife Diana and they went on to have two children: Laura Jean and Lester.
Elroy spent his career as a butcher, running his own meat plant in Salina, Utah until 1999, when he moved in with his daughter’s family and continued working as a butcher locally across Utah county. In addition to his career, Elroy helped raise all of his grandkids and loved them fiercely. He never missed a single game from his grandchildren’s sports.
In 2012, Elroy retired and spent most of his time fishing with all of his favorite fishing buddies, including family, friends, ward members and neighbors. He loved tending to his garden, and his family was the most important thing in his life.
Preceded in death by his son Lester, his “twin” brother Dwayne, his brother Lavelle, and his parents Nancy & Lester.
He is survived by his daughter Laura, his grandchildren Ryan Murano, ReAhna Dobson, Andrew Littlefield, and Kenna McKeachnie, his great-grandchildren Roman Murano, Silas Dobson, and Andersen McKeachnie, his brothers Johnny Colledge, Larry Colledge, Brent Colledge, and Jay Colledge, and his sisters Beverly Burr and Rose Abbott.
A viewing will be held at the church on 700 W 2600 N in Lehi, Utah, on Saturday, November 9th at 10:00 am. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am at the church. Elroy will be buried at the Lehi Cemetery.
