Honoring Eric Jewell and Providing Support
Donation protected
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I share the abrupt passing of our dear friend, Eric Jewell, who left us too early in the year of his 50th birthday. Eric is survived by his loving family: his wife Ashley, and his children Haley (28), Madison (10), and James (8).
In the early morning of August 1st, 2024, while camping in the Sierra Nevada on a family vacation, a bear entered Eric's family campsite. In a heroic act, Eric defended his family, distracting and pursuing the bear to ensure their safety. Tragically, after successfully protecting them, he safely returned knowing his family was unharmed and collapsed due to a heart attack. Eric died a hero, giving his all for his family.
Eric Jewell was truly a jewel of a person. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army and extended that same sense of integrity and leadership with over 20 years of service to The Irvine Company. He embodied a larger-than-life personality, always quick to befriend anyone he met with a story, a smile, or an infectious laugh. His love for his family was second only to his love for the Lord. Whether coaching his kids' sports, offering a prayer, or telling a joke, Eric always found time for others.
We are deeply saddened for his three children, wife, and the extended community of friends and family he leaves behind. Our hope is that this GoFundMe provides financial stability for Eric's family as they navigate the unthinkable. Give whatever is on your heart – no amount is too small nor too big. Your contributions will help ease their burden and allow them to focus on healing and honoring Eric's memory. Thank you for your support.
