Honoring Erika Cornelisen

On October 7, 2021, we lost Erika Cornelisen to metastatic breast cancer. Her beauty, strength, and remarkable spirit will live on in her two children, Atticus (8) and Cora Jean (6).

So many friends and loved ones have asked what they can do to help her husband, Eno, and the kids, especially if they live far from Chicago. In addition to sharing our memories and our grief, I hope we can also contribute to this fund in Erika's memory to help Eno meet whatever needs arise in the difficult weeks and months ahead.

Erika and Eno often insisted they were fine and no help was needed throughout her illness. They just asked for love, light, prayers and all the positive energy we could send their way. During the toughest moments, I recall asking Erika how we could help, and she told me several times that she wanted to save the calls for help for when she and the family "really need it." As if her community's love, kindness and friendship were a finite resource.

Now is the time.
