Honoring Fred Lopez

As many of you know, our beloved brother and friend, Fred Lopez, was called home on Sunday night, September 1st. My name is Wendy, and with a heavy heart, I am honored to start this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of Fred’s wife, Claudia, and their three sons: Dominick, Issac, and Ezekiel. I was fortunate to meet ‘Big Fred’ in high school through his best friend, Mark, and from that moment on, I was embraced as the third musketeer. Fred wasn’t just my friend; he was the big brother I never had but always wished for.

Though I’ve always been a Niners fan (much to his dismay), Fred patiently taught me football, making me play Madden with him at his house—where, of course, he always won. Fred had a way of looking out for me when he didn’t have to, just as he was there for his nephews in times when their own dad couldn’t be."

Now, it’s my turn to look out for him and stand by his family.

While Fred was an Army Veteran, there’s still a lengthy process of paperwork and documentation to arrange his memorial and funeral service, and unfortunately, not all the costs are covered.

Fred was the kind of man who always put his family first, ensuring his mother, wife, and children were cared for above all else.

As his mother, Rosa, Claudia, and their three sons face the unimaginable task of navigating life without him, perhaps we can come together to offer them a small sense of relief, even if only for a moment.

While no words or actions can ease their deep pain and suffering, we can step in where Fred no longer can. We can help ease the financial burden of unexpected expenses for his mother and wife. We can offer Fred’s boys some extra support as they cope with the heartbreaking reality of Daddy not coming home.

Together, we can honor Fred’s legacy by standing with his family during this difficult time.
