On Tuesday March 25th, Maurin’s world was shattered when her husband, Garrett, was tragically taken from her in a hit-and-run accident. At just 23, he was full of life, love, and a profound kindness that touched everyone who knew him.

His sudden passing has left an unimaginable void, not only in Maurin’s heart but also in the lives of his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know him. Garrett was a man of deep faith, unwavering compassion, and genuine warmth. He lived by the words he shared not long ago:

“SLOW MOTION moves way too fast if you really think about it. But I believe that by being KIND to those around me, being PRESENT with those I love, genuinely CHERISHING the precious time and memories made with friends and family, and STRENGTHENING my relationships with my family above, will inevitably be only keys powerful enough to unlock the doors of strength, peace, and comfort in the darkest times of loss and tribulation where strength, peace, and comfort otherwise seem impossible to coexist. Please, let's not let the uncertainties of the future distract us from who and what we have in the present moment, right now, today!”

These words are a reflection of the life he lived—rooted in kindness, gratitude, and love. He was devoted to Maurin, cherishing her with every part of his soul. Their love was inspiring—a bond built on faith, laughter, and the promise of a future they were just beginning to create.
