Hello my name is Darrick Phillips and I'm Gary Barnes Nephew.
I also took care of Gary during his fight
with Diabetes, Blood Disease, Vascular and Kidney failure.
Gary Barnes had a stroke and passed away on
Sunday 12:34 am August 25th 2024 at Age 60
Gary was born October 20th 1963 in Lowell, MA
His parents were Claudette "Claudy" and Harold "Tweety" Barnes
along with Brothers Bruce & Dave Barnes and his
sister Kelly (Barnes) Phillips.
The last 3 years of Gary life was tough, I watched him suffer
in pain on a daily basis and I cant believe he lived
this long with such ailments while having 12 surgeries.
Alot of times he almost quit, but i kept him going this long,
it wasn't easy, sometimes frustrating, yet we always found
away to get by and somehow make it work.
Gary Loved working on cars his whole life and loved
Sports, Westerns and all kinds of car shows on TV.
his favorite team was the Boston Bruins.
Gary was loved by many and will be missed, I know
there are alot of people out there who will miss hearing
his voice, and his stories even if he sometimes
stretched the truth a little..... MINGA lol !
I'm still shocked he went this long, and I thought he would
go another couple of years, but I guess it was time.
At least now I don't have to see him suffer anymore
and he is no longer in pain and I'm gonna miss him,
and its really different not seeing him anymore.
He did the best he could with what he had to work with,
sometimes he could barely walk yet somehow found his way
to go work on a car or go to Dialysis 3 times a week.
Gary was one of the toughest I ever met and he
fought until he couldn't fight no more.
Gary is survived by his brother Bruce Barnes (Virginia)
Bruce's son Nick Barnes .
Daves wife Kim (Barnes) McDonald
Daves daughter Jen Maloney.
Gary also is survived by his sister's husband
Carl Phillips and has many Nieces & Nephews,
Kim Darrick Jason Michael Chad & Dannielle
I also like to thank Garys close friends

I miss you Gary, and there are alot more people out there
that are missing you right now.
You are no longer in pain, Rest in Peace .

and all will be notified of Location, Date, and Time.
