Honoring Gavin Charles Hensel

My name is Elizabeth, and I’ve created this GoFundMe on behalf of Gavin’s family. It is with a heavy heart and immense sadness that we share the heartbreaking loss of Gavin Charles Hensel, a beloved 29-year-old son, father, brother, and friend. Gavin was tragically taken from us too soon on February 27th, 2025. Gavin passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind not only a devastated mother, father, and sisters, but also a young son who now faces life without his father.

To be fortunate enough to know Gavin was to love him. He was a stranger to no one, and a friend to all. He was easygoing, humble, lighthearted, and loyal. He found humor in everything, no matter the circumstance. You could always rely on Gavin to start cracking jokes, immediately brightening any room he walked into. Gavin treasured and had immense pride in his family. He was dedicated to his family and would do anything for them. His son Sebastian was the center of his world.

In addition to their emotional pain, there are unexpected financial burdens that come with laying a loved one to rest. Funeral expenses, time off work, and the cost of helping to care for Gavin’s son in the wake of this loss is overwhelming. Their family now faces the challenge of not only mourning the loss of Gavin, but also figuring out how to navigate the future in raising his beautiful young boy. The impact of the loss of our precious Gavin is immeasurable. His family, friends, and loved ones are utterly heartbroken.
