Honoring Gerardo Marciales by helping his family
Donation protected
This fundraiser is meant to honor a friend who earlier this month tragically lost his life in a biking accident. On Feb. 28, Gerardo Marciales was struck by a driver while biking across Dusable Lake Shore Drive in the crosswalk after exiting the lakefront path. He passed away on March 2 from his injuries. He was employed as a technical consulting engineer for the software company Cisco Systems, which is where we became friends. Gerardo was a joyous person, who was always so kind. This fundraiser was created to honor the memory of Gerardo. After speaking with his fiancé Jaime, I learned that Gerardo was sending back remittances to his mother, aunts, and nieces abroad. Gerardo emigrated from Venezuela to Chicago in 2019 but still made sure to financially assist his family. Proceeds from this fundraiser will honor Gerardo and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Gerardo's family. Gerardo's fiancee Jaime was consulted and believes this would be what Gerardo would want. Any contribution you can make in honor of Gerardo will make a big difference and is greatly appreciated.
