Honoring Hunter Tracey Hughes-Supporting His Legacy & Family

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden and tragic loss of our beloved son/grandson/brother/nephew/uncle, Hunter Hughes, in a horrific car accident on his way to work on May 1st. Hunter had just celebrated his 19th birthday on April 28th. Our family is shattered by this unimaginable loss, and we are navigating through indescribable grief.

Only two weeks prior, Hunter's father passed away at the age of 45. Hunter was incredibly strong and mature in handling the necessary responsibilities of his father's passing. He gave an emotional and courageous eulogy at his father's funeral, highlighting the loss of his "best friend" and mentor -- crediting his father with instilling him with all the characteristics that have made Hunter the outstanding young man he had become.

Hunter was a bright light in our lives and the lives of so many others. His infectious laughter, charismatic smile, compassionate spirit, spontaneous sense of humor, and unwavering kindness touched everyone he met. Whether working at the Lake Restaurant at Babcock Ranch or Bimini Bait Shack, gaming with his friends, or simply spending time with family, he always radiated joy and positivity. He had such a bright future, which has dimmed much too soon.

As we struggle to come to terms with his untimely departure, we are faced with the daunting task of laying him to rest and managing the unexpected expenses that come with such a tragedy. In addition to the emotional toll, our family is now grappling with the financial burden of funeral arrangements, medical bills, and other unforeseen costs.
