Honoring James: A Gifted Musician's Legacy
Donation protected
We are the Johnson-Daniels Family, and with heavy hearts, we humbly ask for your help. On Monday, September 30th, our beloved James Tyrell Johnson suddenly departed from this life. A few short days after his 28th birthday, James passed on surrounded by loved ones. Anyone who knew James knew he was a loving, devoted, and generous soul. All who came into contact with him were deeply impacted by his caring nature and all-around lovable personality. Those of us who were closest to him knew him as the life of the party, spreading the joy he longed for since losing our mother.
James was a musician and singer, performing with the likes of Patti LaBelle, Ledisi and many others while he was still active. He was a member of the DC Boys Choir while attending Truesdell Elementary, but he found his love when he picked up the trombone. He fine-tuned his skills and became a student of Duke Ellington School of the Arts, where he deepened his love for music, playing many different instruments and composing his own musical pieces. He also became a member of The MusicianShip, where he performed and mentored other young musicians.
James was young and had so much more life to live, but we are extremely grateful to have been given the privilege to call him son, brother, uncle, and friend.
We ask for your love and prayers above all else. This has been a very difficult time for us, so all your condolences are greatly appreciated. Arrangements will be posted soon for all who wish to attend. We know James was extremely loved, so we’re working diligently to make sure everyone has all the details. We are grateful for any donations given because it’s more than we started with. Many blessings to you all.
