Remembering Janet Williams Rankin~
It is with an extremely heavy heart that I share the passing of my mother, Janet Williams, on September 8th, 2024, after a long battle with addiction and mental health struggles. She was a lover of music, tennis, and her schnauzers. We will always remember her for these passions and the lasting impact she had on those close to her.
She will never fully know the depth to which she’ll be missed by her family and friends. We find solace in knowing she is no longer suffering, free from the pain and the torturous rollercoaster of addiction. Mom was a wife, daughter, granddaughter, mother, and friend—a woman who touched many lives and was deeply loved.
To those of you who know me well, you understand how difficult it is for me to ask for help. It never has been easy. However, with the suddenness of her passing and her lack of insurance, we find ourselves in a position where this is one of our only options. As difficult as it is to admit, it is necessary.
More importantly, I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who has reached out to me. The overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and kind thoughts—from old friends and even complete strangers—has been nothing short of incredible. I can’t even begin to express how humbling and heartwarming this has been.
Your calls, texts, and messages, along with the support from people I haven’t spoken to in years, have meant everything to me. To know that so much love and support has been sent my way gives me the strength to keep pushing forward and truly humbles me. To all my friends, family, and those offering their support, I cannot thank you enough.
With that said, I am raising funds to help with funeral expenses and to celebrate my mother’s life in a way that reflects who she was and what she loved. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to me as I lay her to rest and honor her memory.
If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction or mental health challenges, please don’t hesitate to reach out for help. There are resources available, and there is hope. You just have to hold on and never give up.
