In Loving Memory of Jerry Ashworth
It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of Jerry Ashworth, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15th, around 2:00 AM. Jerry was involved in a devastating car accident with a tractor-trailer earlier that week. He sustained severe injuries, including a broken C3 vertebra in his neck, a brain bleed, two hematomas, and a large gash in his head requiring 21 stitches.
While in the hospital undergoing treatment, additional scans revealed that Jerry had pneumonia. Despite his fighting spirit, the pneumonia worsened, and his body could no longer endure the battle. Jerry passed peacefully with Ty and me by his side. We held his hand the entire time to make sure he was not alone.
Jerry was so much more than the circumstances of his passing—he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and son. He brought so much joy and love into the lives of those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Unfortunately, we have since discovered that Jerry did not have life insurance as we had originally believed. Jerry was always very old-school and expressed his wishes to be cremated. We are now asking for help to honor his final wishes, cover the cost of cremation, and bring him home where he belongs.
We will not be holding a traditional funeral service but plan to celebrate Jerry’s life with a small gathering after Christmas—a time to share stories, memories, and remember the man we all loved.
Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this unexpected and challenging time. Your kindness and support are deeply appreciated.
