Honoring Joe Ecosta: Final Arrangements Aid

Donation protected
Joseph Ecosta, 73, of Silsbee, TX passed away peacefully at his home on January 29, 2025, joining his late wife, Gail Ecosta, at the pearly gates. During his 73 years of life, Joe "Paw Paw" Ecosta, lived life to the fullest, on his own terms, and made a lasting impression on everyone he met along the way. He and Gail married in 1979 and lived and loved each other for almost 40 years before her passing in 2018. He was also proceeded in death by his oldest son, Gabriel "Gabe" Ecosta, and Gabe's daughter, his granddaughter, Jocelyn Ecosta, as well as his parents, Joyce Marie Marque Ecosta and Joseph Frank Ecosta. His surviving children, Kelly Thompson and Danny Hellard, Bradley Ecosta and Crystal Combs, Christopher Ecosta and spouse Maren Ecosta, Cody Ecosta and Megan Haston, as well as grandchildren Christian and Joseph Ecosta, Jasmine Edwards and spouse Conner Edwards, Cole Harris, Savannah Flowers and Estella Gaines would all like to take this moment to thank you in advance for your love, support, prayers, and contributions to aide in the financial costs associated with funeral expenses and final arrangements that they will incur on behalf of their beloved Dad and Paw Paw. In 2024 Joseph Ecosta was diagnosed with Stage 4 Advanced Double Lung Cancer. He was undergoing chemotherapy and fighting hard to beat this disease and wanted nothing more than to be able to one day ring that bell for his family, symbolizing he was cancer free! Unfortunately during this hard fought battle, it was his COPD that was the likely cause of his sudden and unexpected passing in the end. While still grieving the loss of their Dad, best friend, hero, and man of so much "back porch wisdom;" the children of Joe Ecosta came to realize he did not have life or burial insurance or any paid for final arrangements, besides the plot near his beloved wife at Farmer's Cemetery. So many friends, family, and loved ones have been reaching out to see how they can contribute or be of assistance in taking away some of the financial burden they will all be facing, and it was decided this GoFundMe would be the easiest way to reach all of the people whose lives he touched over his 73 years, and give them the opportunity to help in anyway they saw fit. If you cannot make a financial contribution, we still ask you pray for his family as they grieve and as they plan a way to lay this man of legends to rest. The family is working with Broussard's in Silsbee, and the final cost of just the funeral alone will be $7,196.00, not including flowers and etc. and the means to handle his final affairs. If you are called to make any form of financial contribution, please rest assured these funds will all be used for the above mentioned final arrangements, and if you have any questions or want to make a direct contribution outside of GoFundMe, please contact Christopher and Maren Ecosta at [phone redacted], or the family member or loved one who shared this with you and they can reach out for more info on your behalf. Paw Paw Joe, as most called him, will be missed by many and would be grateful for any support towards his family and loved ones during this time. Thanks from the bottom of all of our hearts for loving the man we call Dad and Paw Paw, and for being there to support him in this time of need.

Love and Respects,
The Ecosta Family
