Honoring Johnny's Legacy of Love & Kindness

Donation protected
In loving memory of our John “Johnny” Steven Escamillo who entered this world on August 1st, 1975 and passed away on September 24th, 2024. Johnny is survived by his loving wife Melissa, and by those close Family and Friends that truly loved and cherished him.

The death of our Johnny was unexpected. Johnny was battling a severe fungal infection in his brain that caused complications due to hydrocephalus. He had been suffering in the hospital every single day for his last 6 weeks trying to recover but ultimately tragically lost his fight.

Johnny was the gentlest, kindest soul and our hearts are broken with his loss. He was the devoted other half of his wife Melissa — her person, her heart — and now she must navigate this life without him by her side. He was a loving and giving Brother, Brother-In-Law, Son-In-Law, Uncle, Godfather, Cousin and true Friend and is survived by all the lives he has ever touched. He was a voracious learner, an altruistic teacher to all, a talented chef, a creative artist — painter and poet, filmmaker and musician. He always strived to be growing, changing, and evolving.

Johnny loved life and enthusiasticly lived it fully. He enjoyed being in nature and the outdoors — hiking and camping in the mountains and the desert. Spending shared beach time and tossed frisbees with his beloved dogs Starla and Bowie. Johnny had a full cup. And from that cup he was always pouring and giving into everyone else’s cups. That’s who Johnny was, pure Love and pure Light. He was always singing, always extending help to others, quick with a shared laugh and a tight long hug.

This GoFundMe page is set up to assist Johnny’s wife Melissa with any outstanding medical expenses, mortuary and cremation costs, and to help her with needs of rent and daily living expenses during this incredibly difficult time. Any support and contributions are greatly appreciated as we honor Johnny’s memory and continue his legacy of Love, Grace, and Kindness to all.

Thank you for keeping Johnny’s spirit alive and for being a part of his journey. We remember and celebrate the beautiful person Johnny was and the lasting impact he had on everyone he ever met. ♾️
