We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Jolson “Joey” Dominguez, a cherished member of our community and a beloved friend to many. A proud graduate of Mark T. Sheehan High School’s Class of 2020, Jolson was born on May 20, 2002, and his vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

Jolson left us far too soon. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in January 2023. He fought through the treatment and subsequent side effects. There was never a dull moment when Jolson was around; he had a unique way of brightening any room with his big smile and friendly greetings. His humor and warmth brought joy to countless lives, and he will be profoundly missed.

Jolson was deeply involved in his community, volunteering with organizations such as ¡Adelante America! and Holy Trinity Church, where he dedicated his time to the CCD Program and Bible Camp. He was currently studying Computer Engineering at Gateway Community College in New Haven, CT, pursuing his passion for technology and innovation.

As we navigate this difficult time, we are seeking your support to help cover the funeral expenses and give Jolson the farewell he deserves. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference and help alleviate the financial burden during this challenging time.

Estamos desconsolados de anunciar el fallecimiento de Jolson “Joey” Domínguez, un miembro apreciado de nuestra comunidad y un amigo querido por muchos. Un orgulloso graduado de la Clase de 2020 de Mark T. Sheehan High School, Jolson nació el 20 de mayo de 2002, y su espíritu vibrante tocó las vidas de todos los que lo conocieron.

Jolson nos dejó demasiado pronto. Le diagnosticaron cáncer cerebral en enero de 2023. Luchó contra el tratamiento y los consiguientes efectos secundarios. Nunca hubo un momento aburrido cuando Jolson estaba cerca; tenía una forma única de iluminar cualquier habitación con su gran sonrisa y sus amistosos saludos. Su humor y su calidez alegraron innumerables vidas, y le echaremos mucho de menos.

Jolson estaba profundamente implicado en su comunidad, trabajando como voluntario en organizaciones como ¡Adelante América! y en la Iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad, donde dedicaba su tiempo al Programa CCD y al Campamento Bíblico. Actualmente estudiaba Ingeniería Informática en Gateway Community College en New Haven, CT, persiguiendo su pasión por la tecnología y la innovación.
