Honoring Joshua's Legacy: Memorial & Burial Fund

In loving memory of Joshua Maurice Grissom, born July 27, 1996, and transitioned on March 2, 2024, at 4:07 pm. We come together as a community to support his family during this difficult time.

Joshua was a shining light in the lives of his family, the second child of LuChiea Hinnant & Andre Grissom. Born at Georgetown University Hospital in DC, he embodied love, humility, and wisdom. His small circle of loved ones knew him as a son who honored his parents, a caring sibling, and a pillar of strength who never shied away from responsibility.

A basketball coach at Friendship Collegiate, Joshua's commitment to his family extended beyond his siblings to the players he mentored. Despite facing mental health challenges, Joshua's determination to provide for his loved ones never wavered. Unfortunately, his diagnosis made it impossible for him to secure life insurance.

Joshua's love for his family and his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ sustained him through life's trials. Tragically, an undetected virus claimed his vibrant spirit, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. In his passing, Joshua's light was extinguished far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of hope, compassion, and a fervent desire for equity and fairness for all.

As a family, we are faced with the unexpected burden of funeral expenses. Denied life insurance due to his mental health diagnosis, we humbly reach out for assistance to honor Joshua's memory and lay him to rest with the dignity and respect he deserves.
