Honoring Karol's Life through Giving

Donation protected
On July 1st, 2024, Karol Diane Monnet (59) passed away unexpectedly in her beloved home in Centennial, CO. A heart two sizes too big and a life cut way too short.

In her memory, we (her children) are planning a donation in her honor to the work at Children's Hospital.

Many of you have asked for ways that you can support and so we invite you to share with us in preserving her memory in this way.

Karol was the mother of five biological children, but in reality a mother to all who knew her. Her house and her arms were always open, her heart ready and waiting to show up, even when her load was heavy.

She was a devoted nurse and loyal friend with a firecracker personality. She was tiny and mighty with an uncanny ability to make everyone who knew her feel seen and loved, to make them feel wanted and safe. Everyone she knew was family. There is nothing she wouldn’t do, or joke she wouldn’t crack (no matter how inappropriate) if it made someone laugh… if it made their darkest days just a little brighter.

She was the kisser of 7 (almost 8) grandchildren’s booboos; their Kaka, who had grand plans to sew for hours and make all their ridiculous Halloween costume dreams come true (just as our Mimi did for us growing up). She was their Kaka who jumped on the trampoline, even when it meant she peed her pants, and was always the first one at the hospital to hold new life.

She was a gardener, spending hours researching and pruning and bandaging up her calloused hands…her tenacity producing the most spectacular blooms that everyone stopped to stare at.

She was the steward of the coziest home for over 30 years, every wall holding sacred memories and endless stories of grief and growth and joy and grace.

Karol was a loving sister and daughter, who joked, teased, pushed all the buttons, and was the best kind of trouble. She was a trailblazer and a rule breaker.

Karol carried big and heavy things quietly and she loved loudly. Her life carries the story of sacrifice and sanctification. We wish her burdens had been lighter and that we had been given a greater chance to bear them alongside her, but trust she is made whole again, fully at peace, resting in the arms of Jesus. She was dearly loved, and will be dearly missed until the joy-filled day we get to squeeze her again!
