Honoring Kyla Jane Walker's Memory
Donation protected

On Monday, November 11 my husband Joshua and I woke up to the worst news imaginable- our amazing sister was killed in a hit and run accident, and the car did not even stop to render aid. We are gutted, shattered, and beyond devastated.
There are few words in the moment to accurately describe how brilliant Kyla Jane Walker was. She lived a life that was brave and bold and authentic and we know how dearly she was loved by us as well as her friends and found family along the way. The hole she leaves is not possible to fill and we will miss her for the rest of our days.
We are not really the type to ask for financial support however the expenses of caring for her and honoring her memory are solely on us. All donations will go to making sure she is cared for with dignity and kindness, purchasing tree urns, tying up any loose ends that she leaves behind, and maybe a donation to a fund in her honor because she was a fierce advocate for the weirdos and the misfits in this life.
The last post she made ended with the words "“This is not a time to be dismayed. This is punk rock time. This is what Joe Strummer trained you for. It is now time to go. You are a good person. That means more now than ever."
In the words of her own therapist "I don't know anyone who could know Kyla and not happily fall into the role of pupil in her school of awesomeness. Like, we are only so lucky to encounter those few genuinely good people, and my god, she was it, wasn't she?"
She sure was.
