Honoring Leo F. Owen Jr.: Memorial Fund

Hi, my name is Leo. My father, Leo F. Owen Jr., passed away on 6/17/24 when he collapsed and had a heart attack at the Medilodge in Gaylord. He was a very loving person. As a Navy veteran, he performed helicopter search and rescue while enlisted. He wore his heart on his chest and anybody that knew him would agree. He lived his whole life all about sports and family. He coached a lot of recreational sports league teams for his kids and was willing to help our teammates with anything they needed seeing we all weren't well off back then. He was also that ONE loving family member that would comment on almost every family/friends pictures and Facebook posts and it was always with positivity.

In the middle years of his life, he helped raise Autistic young adults and coached them through the Special Olympics. There is so much more to tell you if you didn't personally know him! What my family is looking for is help with a good memorial service. I've already taken care of the cremation and just trying to make ends meet right now is hard with what I'm going through. We lost my mother in December and we're still dealing with that and then this happened at the worst time but no time is good for these things. I'm currently doing my best to make this happen seeing as how he really deserves a meaningful memorial service. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Even if it's just a prayer for the family, it's greatly appreciated seeing as how there's not many of us left. Thank you all, Leo
